Armadillo Joe,
your question about late-night eats is an important one. We don't
have the great and abundant diners of the East (New York City, at
least). But I can recommend the Baghdad Cafe at 2295 Market Street
(up there on Upper Market, nearing Castro Street). 24 hours, and pretty
good food the one time I ate there. And pretty near your apartment!

When In San
Fran I am often faced with the issue of where to get the late night
snack, especially after the bars kick my drunk ass out. I have been
graced with the late night treasures of Sparky's on Church, and
the Lucky Penny just off Geary. What other late night choices are
there other than the Skillet's at Lennies?

I found a human
arm on my porch this morning. Next to a series of gnaw marks was
your web address. I am deeply concerned.

Go to VALs in
Castro Valley/Hayward. Home of the one poundburger. Excellent shakes.
Classic truck stop dive. In & Out has nothing on them.

Okay, so, I
saw your verdict regarding the 2nd Ave. Deli Pastrami - Sounds wonderful.
How do I order some? Help - we live in Washington state (originally
from New Jersey). Having a hard time finding really good pastrami
out here. Thanks for your help. Irene

I can't believe
you haven't reviewed In N Out burger. Nothing compares to that tasty
morsel. I've eaten at Joe's Cable Car and, while it is pretty good,
it's got nothing on the In N Out, baby! I've even gotten a couple
vegetarians to not only take a bite of an In N Out, but to say that
they liked it. And I didn't even have to tie them up or anything.
Don't play the fud snobs and come down on it cuz it's a fast food
place.

Why don't you
boys come visit my place, Pete's BBQ on Mission at 20th? We've got
great ribs, succulent bbq chicken (slow-roasted in our custom broilers)
and a honey-baked ham that'll put hair on all your chests...or redistribute
the hair, so those of you with too much will lose some and those
of you with none will get a follicle or two. Our chicken dinner
is $5.95 and comes with a 1/4 of incredible, moist bbq bird, your
choice of some truly great sides (bean salad, green salad, cole
slaw, macaroni), a fresh roll and a baked potato.
